Wisconsin requires septic tanks to be pumped every 3 years, though it may be sooner depending on household size, tank capacity, water usage, garbage disposal use, and how much solid waste enters the system. If you’re unsure when yours was last serviced, we can help determine whether pumping is recommended.
It depends on tank size, number of occupants, daily water usage, property type, and seasonal or recreational use. Some tanks need pumping every few weeks; others every few months. We can help establish a maintenance schedule based on your property’s needs.
Watch for slow-draining sinks, tubs, or toilets; gurgling plumbing; sewage odors inside or outside; standing water or unusually lush grass near the drain field; frequent backups; or several years since your last pumping.
If your tank lid is not above ground, please have it dug out before the scheduled service. If you need help finding or digging it, we will make exceptions for those in need.
Inspections may include locating and accessing the tank, measuring sludge and scum levels, checking tank condition, examining baffles when accessible, looking for leaks or deterioration, evaluating overall operation, and providing maintenance recommendations. Scope can vary by system type and site conditions.
Inspections are recommended when buying or selling a home, after several years without one, if you have slow drains or backups, notice odors or wet areas near the drain field, if your septic alarm activates, or before adding onto your home or increasing water usage.

Clear the way: Ensure our truck can safely reach the tank. Move vehicles, trailers, and other obstacles.
Clear snow & ice: Plow or shovel a path to the tank and around the lids.
Locate & uncover the tank: Let us know where the tank is and uncover buried lids.
Provide access: Unlock gates and make sure we can access the property.
Secure pets: Keep pets safely away from the work area.
For septic systems: Please leave a garden hose accessible to ensure we can properly clean the tank after service.
